The Curator is a Nerf gun that is automatically aimed and fired at targets that are detected by sensors. The Nerf sentry gun will fire non-lethal projectiles upon specific visitors of your gallery. The system is best mounted to guard the closest viewing angle of whichever art piece you choose. A black and yellow line will be placed on the floor that depicts the turret’s max range. This sentry system will fire at any moving object that remains in the designated space around the video screen for too long or comes within a foot of the video screen. The visuals displayed on the screen will be a mixture of propaganda critiquing the art institution and advertisements for the art curation system currently installed in the gallery space. The coloring of the media will emulate cold war era propaganda and the turret will feature an intimidating color scheme matching guns from Warhammer 40,000 which is a miniature tabletop war game set in a dystopian science-fantasy universe. As the turret fires upon the viewer the scene becomes more oppressive as the darts become intermixed with the empty shell casings that already occupy the floor.
